Hexagon Robotics

LimX Dynamics
Up to three
All humanoid robots. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Hexagon AEON | LimX Dynamics Oli |
|---|---|---|
| Where it operates | ||
| Home / residential | PoorAEON has never been deployed in a home setting; all documented pilots run inside BMW and Schaeffler factory floors. | PoorFull-size platform unsuitable for residential spaces; no consumer documentation. |
| Office / retailthey differ | DependsNo pilot has been documented outside heavy manufacturing; general office or retail commercial use is undemonstrated. | PoorNot positioned for commercial service roles; research and pilot deployments only. |
| Warehouse / factory | GoodPurpose-built for factory environments; live pilots run inside BMW's Leipzig plant and Schaeffler's training facility. | GoodPilot deployments in factory and logistics environments are the intended use case. |
| Primary tasks | ||
| Household chores | PoorNo household or general chore capability has been demonstrated; documented tasks are structured factory operations. | PoorNo pre-defined consumer or domestic task capability. |
| Social / care | PoorAEON is not designed or marketed for social or companionship interaction of any kind. | PoorNo documented interaction or communication features. |
| Specialized job | GoodDocumented tasks are narrow and specialized: machine tending, part inspection, and EV battery-assembly handoffs. | GoodFull-size research platform for complex manipulation and locomotion studies. |
| Supervision needs | ||
| Fully autonomous | PoorNo unsupervised deployment has been documented; every pilot runs with dedicated on-site safety staff present. | PoorResearch platform requires active monitoring and technical oversight. |
| With oversight | GoodCurrent BMW and Schaeffler pilots run with structured handoffs and on-site safety personnel present throughout. | GoodSupervised operation with engineering staff in controlled research settings. |
| Teleoperatedthey differ | DependsAEON is built for onboard AI-driven autonomy rather than as a remote-piloted platform; teleoperated control is not documented as a supported mode. | GoodIndustrial and research pilot deployments are the core positioning. |
| Timeline | ||
| Ready today | PoorAEON is not commercially available today in any form; every deployment is an active, closely supervised industrial pilot. | PoorPre-release; not available or production-hardened. |
| Near-term (1–2 yrs) | GoodMatches AEON's current stage: live pilots underway with a stated near-term scale-up toward roughly 1,000 units at Schaeffler. | Good2025 announcement positions Oli in the near-term horizon for research deployments. |
| Research phasethey differ | DependsAEON has moved past pure research demos into live factory task execution, so a research-only framing understates its current stage. | GoodCore design intent for research institutions and long-horizon development. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
None of these has shipped, so they are assessed on track record, engineering plausibility and how the demonstrations match the claims.
Never averaged into it. These describe how much the maker has disclosed, not what the machine does.

|---|---|---|
| ReadinessShip-date specificity, pricing transparency, distribution and regulatory status. Published beside the number; never averaged in. | 38/100 | 35/100 |
| DisclosureHow much of the product is disclosed. Higher means fewer fundamental unknowns remain. Published beside the number; never averaged in. | 32/100 | 40/100 |
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Price, Runtime, Charge time, Noise.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
Hexagon has never shipped a humanoid before this one, so the 1,000-unit Schaeffler commitment is a bet on a first-generation platform, not a proven one.
The pilot replaces no job outright yet: on-site safety staff remain present at every documented deployment, which is supervision, not autonomy.
Full-size form enables dexterity and payload; power consumption and space requirements scale accordingly, restricting deployment to equipped environments.
Research-grade maturity means active development; reliability and support are secondary to algorithmic iteration and capability exploration during the pilot phase.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.
| Robot | Evidence status | Sources reviewed | Last assessed |

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.

Comparing across classes is allowed — the page will switch to per-class positioning and tell you it has.
