01 Classification

What each one does on its own.

The Autonomy Ladder is the same five rungs for every robot on the site. A rung describes the conditions a robot handles without you, not how good it is.

V
Generalized
Any task, any setting
IV
Environmental
Handles new obstacles without help
III
Conditional
Finishes familiar jobs on its own

02 Assessment

Where they actually differ.

The Robovations Score is nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so that more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart. Cost of ownership and data handling are reported on each robot's own page and are never averaged into the score.

How far apart is a long way?

A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track below is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.

04 Ownership

What the numbers leave out.

The trade-off

What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.

eufy Robot Vacuum Omni C20

Independent testing found genuinely strong mopping results (above-average stain removal, low residual water), but the same testing found no dedicated obstacle-avoidance sensor and below-average crevice pickup.

The slim 3.35in body and All-in-One dock automation come from a design that also documents roughly half the coverage per charge of the average tested robot.

iRobot Roomba Plus 515 Combo

The dock takes over water, pads and debris for up to three months, but it stands far taller than the 3.29 in robot it serves and needs a fixed spot with power.

Suction is sold only as 3x the Plus 505, a relative claim with no pascal figure on iRobot’s own page.

Who each one is wrong for

Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.

eufy Robot Vacuum Omni C20
Homes with long-haired pets
Independent testing measured a 54% hair-wrap rate on 7in hair strands, above the 38% category average.
Homes with frequent floor clutter or loose cables
Independent testing found no dedicated obstacle-avoidance sensor.
Networks without 2.4GHz Wi-Fi available
The robot supports only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, not 5GHz.
iRobot Roomba Plus 515 Combo
Large homes beyond 2,000 square feet per run
iRobot rates coverage at 2,000 sq ft per charge and has not documented recharge-and-resume behavior for larger floor plans on this model.
Deep or high-pile carpet
Pads lift only 10 mm on carpet detection, and no independent carpet test of this model has been published to show how it handles dense pile.
Buyers who want detergent dosed automatically
The dock does not add cleaning solution itself; iRobot directs owners to add a compatible solution to the tank by hand.
Buyers waiting for independent performance testing
Launch coverage from Vacuum Wars and Reviewed contains no test results, so every suction, runtime and coverage figure today is iRobot's own.

What stays your job

The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.

eufy Robot Vacuum Omni C20
  • After every use: Clear cables, cords, and toys before the next run; independent testing found no dedicated obstacle-avoidance sensor to route around them.
  • Weekly: Refill the dock’s clean-water tank and drain the dirty-water tank; the station auto-refills the robot mid-run, but both tanks are filled and emptied by hand.
  • Monthly: Cut wrapped hair from the roller and side brushes and rinse the washable filter; testing measured a 54% wrap rate on 7in pet hair, above the category average.
  • Every 3-6 months: Replace the mop cloths, roughly every three months per research on this model; eufy’s $35.99 C20 parts kit includes two.
  • As needed: Swap the dock’s 3.1L dust bag when full ($17.99 for a 6-pack of official bags); eufy publishes no change interval.
  • As needed: Replace the roller brush, side brushes, and filters from the $35.99 official parts kit; eufy publishes no replacement interval for these parts.
  • As needed: Update no-go zones, no-mop zones, and schedules in the eufy Clean app; the robot connects on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only.
iRobot Roomba Plus 515 Combo
  • Every 3-6 months: Empty the dock’s debris storage and dirty-water tank, and refill clean water, per iRobot’s up-to-three-month rating.
  • As needed: Add a compatible cleaning solution to the tank by hand; the dock does not dose it.
  • Weekly: Check the rubber and bristle main brush and side brush for hair.
  • Monthly: Wipe the LiDAR window, cliff sensors and charging contacts.
  • As needed: Replace DualClean pads, filters and brushes from iRobot’s Plus 515 accessory series as they wear.
05 Evidence

How much each of these is standing on.

Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.
