Beatbot Sora 70

Cordless convenience replaces cable and swivel maintenance, it does not add to it. What you take on instead is charge scheduling and off-season battery storage.

Smart mapping is early-stage for pool cleaners. Independent hands-on reviews published from May 2026 cover floor, wall, waterline and surface performance; what has no record yet is how mapping and coverage hold up across several seasons.

Maytronics Dolphin Liberty 600

Cordless operation removes cable management, but coverage is bounded by charge rather than by the wall socket. Maytronics states up to 4.5 hours per charge, and Eco Mode spreads that across scheduled short cycles instead of one continuous pass.

App control enables sophisticated scheduling but requires WiFi stability and smartphone ownership; network outages silence scheduled runs without alert.

ClickUp removes the cable and brings the cleaner to the surface on its own, but retrieval is still manual: the owner lifts the unit out of the water by hand at the end of every cycle.

Pools with heavy seasonal leaf or algae load
Continuous shedding means emptying the filter between cycles rather than after them, and pre-skimming by hand before a run. That maintenance load exceeds what a daily-use cleaner is meant to absorb.
Above-ground or non-standard pool shapes
Smart mapping designed for in-ground geometry. Ramp access, wall angles, and shallow ledges in above-ground or non-rectangular pools may confound the navigation system.
Owners requiring year-round unattended operation
Battery charge cycles, seasonal winterization, and no reliability record past a first season mean regular owner intervention is mandatory. Not a set-and-forget system.
Maytronics Dolphin Liberty 600
Owners prioritizing hands-off operation without app dependency
Liberty 600 requires mobile app for scheduling. Manual start button exists but full scheduling requires smartphone connectivity and app engagement. WiFi outages halt scheduled runs.
Pools with heavy fall leaf debris
Debris capacity is fixed, so a heavy leaf load has to be emptied more often than the cleaning schedule alone would require. Pre-skimming reduces how often a cycle is interrupted during high-debris seasons.
Pools longer than 50 ft
Maytronics rates the Liberty 600 for pools up to 50 ft. Longer pools fall outside the published sizing.

  • Monthly: Inspect dock connectors for corrosion; test app connectivity.
  • Every 3-6 months: Battery charge-hold test; replace brush if fibers worn.
  • Seasonally: Winterization: drain motor cavity and disconnect battery if storing pool cover.
  • As needed: Filter cartridge replacement; brush replacement (cost per unit not documented).
Maytronics Dolphin Liberty 600
  • After every use: Empty and rinse the debris basket; air-dry the cleaner before storage.
  • Weekly: Check the brushes and the impeller intake for hair, string and leaf stems.
  • Monthly: Inspect the battery pack and its contacts for damage or mineral deposits; rinse the basket screens through.
  • Seasonally: Deep-clean the basket and brushes at pool open and close; store the cleaner and its battery indoors over winter in freeze-zone climates.
