All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Ultenic MX50 | Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | Good180-minute runtime and a 200 m² rated area leave margin for a smaller home. | GoodA 120-minute run and saved LiDAR maps cover a compact home comfortably in one pass. |
| 1,500 – 3,000they differ | GoodMuyComputer cleaned a three-bedroom home twice on one charge; Ultenic rates 200 m² per charge. | DependsThe 120-minute run suits mid-size homes, but Dyson does not state the R1 recharges and resumes, so a single large run can stop short. |
| Over 3,000 | DependsUltenic rates about 200 m², roughly 2,150 sq ft, per charge; larger homes need a recharge mid-run. | DependsNo published coverage figure for homes this size, and no documented recharge-and-resume, so a full clean may take several sessions. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodReviewers found daily cleaning on hard floors effective, with hot-water mop care in the dock. | GoodBuilt around hard floors: 21,000 Pa rated suction plus an ultrasonic sensor that separates hard floor from carpet. |
| Low / medium pile | GoodCarpet detection boosts suction and lifts the mop 15 mm, which SmartWorld says protects low-pile rugs. | GoodTwin-capture separation and 21,000 Pa rated suction handle low-pile carpet; the brush bar is built to resist hair wrap. |
| High pile / shag | DependsThe mop lifts only 15 mm, and no reviewer tested deep or high-pile carpet. | DependsThe 21,000 Pa figure is a peak Dyson claim with no independent high-pile test, so deep and shag pile performance is unverified. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. | GoodVacuum-only robot — matches a vacuum-only need. |
| Light moppingthey differ | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. | PoorThis model has no mopping function. |
| Frequent moppingthey differ | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. | PoorNo mop at all; choose a vacuum-and-mop robot instead. |
| Upkeep you accept | ||
| Regular upkeep | GoodAbout 60 minutes of upkeep a month. | GoodAbout 25 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Some upkeep | GoodAbout 60 minutes of upkeep a month. | GoodAbout 25 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Minimal upkeepthey differ | DependsAbout 60 minutes of upkeep a month. Minimal is 30 or less. | GoodAbout 25 minutes of upkeep a month, and the dock empties the bin. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Noise, Weight.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The dock does the hot wash and dry; you still fill and drain its tanks through fiddly plugs.
LiDAR maps quickly and accurately, while the lack of a front camera means cables and toys on the floor are its problem to hit, not avoid.
At $549 the R1 keeps the R2’s LiDAR navigation and the same 21,000 Pa suction on the same chassis. What the lower price removes is wet cleaning, not sensing: the R2 adds mop hardware and a washing dock, and both robots map the same way.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
