All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | SwitchBot Floor Clean… | Ultenic MX50 |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodCapable but exceeds typical compact-home needs; a cheaper model in this class would deliver equivalent coverage. | Good180-minute runtime and a 200 m² rated area leave margin for a smaller home. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | GoodRuntime and coverage well-matched to single-pass floor-plan completion; dock return not required mid-cycle. | GoodMuyComputer cleaned a three-bedroom home twice on one charge; Ultenic rates 200 m² per charge. |
| Over 3,000 | DependsDock return required on homes exceeding 3000 sqft; multi-zone operation unsupported without manual recharge pauses. | DependsUltenic rates about 200 m², roughly 2,150 sq ft, per charge; larger homes need a recharge mid-run. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodMopping function optimized for sealed hardwood and tile; no protection needed for wet-pad risk. | GoodReviewers found daily cleaning on hard floors effective, with hot-water mop care in the dock. |
| Low / medium pile | Good10000Pa suction handles low-pile carpet; standard for this class. | GoodCarpet detection boosts suction and lifts the mop 15 mm, which SmartWorld says protects low-pile rugs. |
| High pile / shagthey differ | PoorOwner reports document suction loss on high-pile and shag carpet; mopping function excludes no-wet-zone configuration. | DependsThe mop lifts only 15 mm, and no reviewer tested deep or high-pile carpet. |

A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Noise, Weight.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The base station is the product: plumbed into a cold water line and a drain, it removes tank handling from the routine entirely. Unplumbed, the same machine goes back to filling and emptying tanks by hand, and the dock still has to live somewhere a water line can reach.
The cleaning solution is not substitutable. SwitchBot’s manual requires its own formula and states that third-party alternatives may damage the internal pumping system, so the running cost is fixed to one supplier rather than shopped.
The dock does the hot wash and dry; you still fill and drain its tanks through fiddly plugs.
LiDAR maps quickly and accurately, while the lack of a front camera means cables and toys on the floor are its problem to hit, not avoid.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
