All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | SwitchBot S10 | Deebot T30 Pro Omni |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodDock footprint and plumbing requirements demand 2-3 sq ft utility space; tight fit for small homes. | Good180-minute runtime covers under 1,500 sqft in one pass; standard mode sufficient. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | GoodIdeal range for multi-room systematic coverage. 240-min runtime handles 2,000-2,500 sq ft in one pass. | GoodTypical range for this model; multi-room scheduling handles splits across two floors efficiently. |
| Over 3,000 | DependsMultiple dock placements or longer runtimes needed. Single dock limits coverage to 2,500 sq ft per charge cycle. | DependsDeep cleans on 3,000+ sqft single floors require mid-session recharge; extends total time to 3-4 hours. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodVacuum and mop both optimized for tile, laminate, sealed hardwood. Peak performance on hard surfaces. | GoodConsistent vacuum performance across sealed hardwood and tile; mopping results good on hard floors. |
| Low / medium pilethey differ | DependsVacuum handles low-pile carpet well; mop limited to hard-floor zones. Mopping value drops on mixed surfaces. | GoodVacuum and mopping both perform well on low-pile carpet per owner reports. |
| High pile / shagthey differ | PoorOwner reports document mop ineffectiveness on shag and high-pile carpet. Vacuum-only robot more cost-effective. | DependsVacuum handles high-pile; mopping performance degrades significantly and owner reports show suction loss. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodVacuums first; the mop pad is optional. | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |
| Light mopping | GoodFlat mop pad handles light, routine wiping of hard floors. | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. |
| Frequent moppingthey differ | DependsA dragged pad freshens floors but lacks the pressure or scrubbing for heavy, frequent mopping. | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. |
| Upkeep you accept | ||

A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The Water Station ends manual refilling and emptying and runs on tanks or a shared water line, but it is a second appliance to site alongside the Auto-Empty Station.
The self-washing roller mop scrubs continuously without returning to the station, but it is a hard-floor system: on carpet it lifts and the machine reverts to vacuuming.
LiDAR mapping gives systematic coverage of a known layout while the RGBD camera handles what has moved since; a rearranged room still cleans, but the stored map needs updating for the route to be efficient again.
The dock eliminates manual mop rinsing, but introduces a 20-30 minute wash-and-dry cycle that conflicts with quiet household hours.
Ecovacs publishes up to 290 minutes in silent mode on hard floor, but that is a best case; raising suction toward the 11,000 Pa maximum shortens a charge substantially, and no runtime at that setting is published.
The automated dock adds convenience but brings its own upkeep, mop pads, dust bags and tank refills, that a budget vacuum does not carry.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
