Narwal
Up to three
All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra |
|---|---|
| Home size | |
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodCapable but overkill; dual-mop feature unused in compact spaces. Budget Level III alternatives deliver same coverage for less. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | Good90-minute runtime and 7,000 Pa handle typical 2,000-2,500 sqft layouts in one session. Ideal use case for this product. |
| Over 3,000 | DependsRequires two docking or scheduling splits. 90-minute runtime may not cover full multi-level home in single run on high suction. |
| Primary floors | |
| Hard floors | GoodDual-rotating mops and 7,000 Pa excel on sealed hard floors. Dock auto-dry reduces owner rinsing to every 2-3 weeks. |
| Low / medium pile | GoodMop pads lift on low-pile carpet per manufacturer design. Suction adequate for routine cleaning; expect mop-pad replacement every 8-10 weeks. |
| High pile / shag | PoorOwner reports document mop-pad degradation on high-pile and shag carpet. Suction drops noticeably when pads drag under load. |
| Mopping needs | |
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |
| Light mopping | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. |
| Frequent mopping | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. |
| Upkeep you accept | |
| Regular upkeep | GoodAbout 50 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Some upkeep | GoodAbout 50 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Minimal upkeep | DependsAbout 50 minutes of upkeep a month. Minimal is 30 or less. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
These robots share no measured specification with enough published figures to plot. That is a gap in the record, not a finding about the robots.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The dual-rotating mop is a real advantage on sealed hard floors, and the Reuleaux triangle pads lift 12 mm at carpet so they are never dragged across pile. What the machine cannot do is clean carpet wet, so a carpet-heavy floor plan uses only its vacuum half.
18,000 Pa of rated suction sits below the 25,000 to 30,000 Pa claimed at the top of the category, on ratings that share no common test method. Narwal spends the engineering on the mop system; suction is sized for hard floors and low to medium pile.
Dual RGB cameras sharpen obstacle recognition beyond what the tri-laser array sees on its own, but they put a camera at floor level in the home and route what it recognizes through Narwal’s app.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
Robovations classifies robots; it does not rank them. Nothing on this page is a recommendation, and no manufacturer influences a classification or its placement here.
Comparing across classes is allowed — the page will switch to per-class positioning and tell you it has.
