All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | iRobot Roomba Max 715 | Roborock Qrevo S Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodCapable but self-empty dock is overkill for compact homes; smaller J7 or budget model sufficient. | Good240-minute runtime and about 1,495 sq ft measured per charge easily covers compact layouts in one pass. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | GoodFlagship positioning; covers 1500-3000 sqft in 1-2 scheduled runs with dock self-empty. | GoodIndependent testing measured roughly 1,495 sq ft cleaned per charge, enough for most homes in this range without a recharge stop. |
| Over 3,000 | Depends120-min runtime may require two passes on 3000+ sqft homes without breaks; schedule multiple runs. | DependsAt about 1,495 sq ft measured per charge, homes above 3,000 sq ft likely need more than one charge cycle to finish. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodSealed hard-floor performance strong; pre-filter and cliff sensors handle transitions well. | Good18,500 Pa suction and automatically lifting mop pads clean bare floors without extra setup or manual pad removal. |
| Low / medium pile | GoodHistorical j-series strength; 8500 Pa suction covers low-pile and standard carpet reliably. | GoodIndependent testing measured 81 percent carpet debris removal, matching the category average despite a single rubber main brush. |
| High pile / shagthey differ | PoorOwner reports on iRobot models document suction loss and motor strain on shag and high-pile carpet. | DependsThe single rubber main brush gives less mechanical agitation than a bristle brush, so thick high-pile carpet likely sees reduced pickup. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodVacuum-only robot — matches a vacuum-only need. | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. |
| Light moppingthey differ | PoorThis model has no mopping function. | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. |
| Frequent moppingthey differ | PoorNo mop at all; choose a vacuum-and-mop robot instead. | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. |
| Upkeep you accept | ||
| Regular upkeep | GoodAbout 90 minutes of upkeep a month. | GoodAbout 45 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Some upkeepthey differ | DependsAbout 90 minutes of upkeep a month, which is over an hour. | GoodAbout 45 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Minimal upkeepthey differ | PoorAbout 90 minutes of upkeep a month, which is over an hour. | DependsAbout 45 minutes of upkeep a month. Minimal is 30 or less. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Charge time, Weight.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
Vacuum-only design. No mopping even with third-party pads. Wet floors need a separate machine or a Combo-line model with the AutoWash dock.
Dock footprint is substantial. Self-empty convenience trades off 18 × 17 inches of floor space. Base model Roomba j7 has smaller dock or manual bin.
This is a flagship-grade mop paired with a mid-pack brush: the dock out-cleans machines twice its price, and the main roller falls behind machines half its price on pet hair.
Structured-light obstacle avoidance caught only 5 of 24 test obstacles, so floors need clearing before a run that a stronger sensor suite would tolerate left alone.
Single rubber main brush: strong on bare-floor debris, prone to hair wrap in shedding-pet homes.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
