MOVA
Up to three
All robot lawn mowers. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | GOAT O1200 LiDAR PRO | MOVA AstraX |
|---|---|---|
| Yard size | ||
| Under ¼ acrethey differ | GoodRated coverage of about 0.3 acre comfortably handles lots under a quarter acre in scheduled runs. | DependsMOVA has published no rated lawn area for AstraX. |
| ¼ – ½ acre | DependsRated coverage tops out near 0.3 acre, so only the low end of this bracket fits; larger half-acre lawns exceed the ceiling. | DependsMOVA has published no rated lawn area or battery figures for AstraX. |
| Over ½ acrethey differ | PoorRated to about 0.3 acre; lawns over half an acre exceed its mapped coverage ceiling. | DependsNo area, runtime or charging figures exist for AstraX. |
| Terrain | ||
| Mostly flatthey differ | GoodFlat lawns are well within its drive and mapping envelope for scheduled mowing. | DependsNo terrain or slope rating has been published for AstraX. |
| Gentle slopesthey differ | GoodRated to 45 percent grade, so moderate slopes are handled without special setup. | DependsMOVA has not published a slope rating for AstraX. |
| Steep / hilly | DependsRated to 45 percent grade (about 24 degrees); very steep or wet slopes can reduce traction. | DependsNo slope rating exists, and the arm's effect on stability on hills is undocumented. |
| Grass type | ||
| Typical lawn grassthey differ | GoodStandard turfgrass suits the 22 cm deck and 3 to 8 cm cutting height on a regular schedule. | DependsMOVA has published no cutting width or cutting height figures for AstraX. |
| Mixed / tall growth | DependsCutting height tops out at 8 cm, so very overgrown grass needs an initial trim before regular runs. | DependsNo cutting height range has been published for AstraX. |
| Thick (Bermuda / Zoysia) | DependsThe 22 cm deck covers dense turf slowly; efficient mode helps but adds to total runtime. | DependsNo blade or cutting-system details have been published for AstraX. |
| Boundary setup | ||
| Wireless requiredthey differ | GoodWire-free by design: maps boundaries with LiDAR and a camera, no perimeter wire to bury or repair. | DependsMOVA has not described AstraX's navigation or boundary method. |
| Wire requiredthey differ | PoorNo perimeter-wire option; boundaries are set only through wire-free app mapping. | DependsMOVA has not said whether AstraX supports a boundary wire. |
| No preferencethey differ | GoodWire-free setup via LiDAR and camera mapping suits owners with no boundary preference. | DependsAstraX's navigation and boundary method are unpublished. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
These robots share no measured specification with enough published figures to plot. That is a gap in the record, not a finding about the robots.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The wire-free LiDAR and camera mapping removes trenching, and it leans on physical landmarks rather than RTK satellites, so wide featureless lawns give it fewer references.
Edge trimming close to borders reduces hand finishing, while the 22 cm cutting deck covers dense or overgrown turf slowly rather than quickly.
Coverage ceiling of about 1,200 square meters: a single machine fits a third-of-an-acre lawn and stops short of larger properties.
An arm that clears debris and waters beds would widen what a mower does, but MOVA has not said whether AstraX will be sold.
Choreographed demonstrations show the arm moving on cue, while no report shows it clearing a real lawn unaided.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
