Ecovacs Goat O1000 LiDAR PRO

The dual-LiDAR stack removes RTK’s antenna and clear-sky need, but its virtual boundary caps at 17 percent slope, far below the 45 percent the work area itself tolerates.

TruEdge closes the edge-cutting gap a wire-guided mower leaves behind, at the cost of a trimmer that runs 20 dBA louder than the mower’s own body.

This is a first-generation LiDAR PRO tier with no independent field record, so the navigation approach that replaces RTK is still unproven outside Ecovacs’ own testing.

Husqvarna Automower 305E NERA

EdgeCut trims to the very boundary using a second deck, but obstacle avoidance is practically non-existent, with no onboard camera to back up the satellite map.

Wire-free installation removes the buried perimeter entirely, on one condition: Wi-Fi has to reach every part of the lawn, or the physical-wire fallback is the only option.

TechRadar calls the cutting efficient yet the behavior temperamental, and complex layouts need the map manually corrected to stop it straying or getting stuck.

  • Weekly: Wipe the LiDAR sensor; Ecovacs’ maintenance table sets the LiDAR at every week and the front AI camera and ToF sensor at every 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Monthly: Replace all three blades with new screws; Ecovacs documents a 4-6 week blade schedule, and a two-set A/O-series blade kit (blades and screws) is $59.98 on the US shop.
  • Monthly: Replace the trimmer line and trimmer brush on the documented 4-8 week cycle; spare trimmer line is $15.99 and the brush $29.99 on the US shop.
  • As needed: Brush off the blade disc and wheels and wipe the rest with a clean dry cloth; no sprays, detergents or pressure washing, and cover the LiDAR sensor before turning the mower over.

  • As needed: Replace the battery when runtime between charges shortens; the manual names that as the battery’s end-of-life signal.
