All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Dreame X50 Master | Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodMapping and 6 cm thresholds suit compact homes; the plumbed station still needs a water and drain point near the dock. | GoodA 120-minute run and saved LiDAR maps cover a compact home comfortably in one pass. |
| 1,500 – 3,000they differ | GoodA stated 260-minute runtime and automatic pad washing between passes cover mid-size homes without tank stops. | DependsThe 120-minute run suits mid-size homes, but Dyson does not state the R1 recharges and resumes, so a single large run can stop short. |
| Over 3,000they differ | GoodAutomatic refill and drain remove the tank stops that limit large-home mopping; the 260-minute runtime is a stated figure. | DependsNo published coverage figure for homes this size, and no documented recharge-and-resume, so a full clean may take several sessions. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodDual extending mops washed in hot water (stated 80 C) between passes suit large sealed-floor areas. | GoodBuilt around hard floors: 21,000 Pa rated suction plus an ultrasonic sensor that separates hard floor from carpet. |
| Low / medium pile | GoodMops lift 10.5 mm over carpet, so low-pile rugs are cleared rather than dragged through damp pads. | GoodTwin-capture separation and 21,000 Pa rated suction handle low-pile carpet; the brush bar is built to resist hair wrap. |
| High pile / shag | DependsThe documented mop lift is 10.5 mm; no independent test on deep shag was found, so thick pile is unconfirmed. | DependsThe 21,000 Pa figure is a peak Dyson claim with no independent high-pile test, so deep and shag pile performance is unverified. |
| Mopping needs | ||
| Vacuum only | GoodStrong vacuum; the mop lifts or detaches when not needed. | GoodVacuum-only robot — matches a vacuum-only need. |
| Light moppingthey differ | GoodActive mopping system covers routine floors easily. | PoorThis model has no mopping function. |
| Frequent moppingthey differ | GoodPressure or rotating mop with self-wash is built for frequent mopping. | PoorNo mop at all; choose a vacuum-and-mop robot instead. |
| Upkeep you accept | ||
| Regular upkeep | GoodAbout 60 minutes of upkeep a month. | GoodAbout 25 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Some upkeep | GoodAbout 60 minutes of upkeep a month. | GoodAbout 25 minutes of upkeep a month. |
| Minimal upkeepthey differ | DependsAbout 60 minutes of upkeep a month. Minimal is 30 or less. | GoodAbout 25 minutes of upkeep a month, and the dock empties the bin. |
A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Price, Charge time, Noise, Weight.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The plumbed station removes every water tank from the routine, and in exchange it ties the dock’s location to a supply line and a drain.
Retractable legs and a retracting turret extend what the body can cross and fit under, and they add moving parts whose wear history is not yet documented.
At $549 the R1 keeps the R2’s LiDAR navigation and the same 21,000 Pa suction on the same chassis. What the lower price removes is wet cleaning, not sensing: the R2 adds mop hardware and a washing dock, and both robots map the same way.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
