Dreame

Up to three
All robot vacuums. Every figure below is placed against the whole class, so a gap can be read against how much the class itself varies.
The conditions each robot was assessed against, side by side. Rows marked in gold are where these machines genuinely differ.
| Condition | Dreame Matrix10 Ultra | Roborock S8 Max Ultra… |
|---|---|---|
| Home size | ||
| Under 1,500 sqft | GoodCapable but exceeds compact-home needs. Mid-tier Dreame models deliver equivalent Level III for under $900. | GoodRoborock lists up to 180 minutes of runtime, and the dock handles water without refills. |
| 1,500 – 3,000 | GoodSolid coverage for this range. LiDAR mapping handles multi-room layouts; dock self-empty reduces cycle overhead. | GoodIndependent lab testing saw nearly perfect coverage, and plumbing removes tank refills on long runs. |
| Over 3,000they differ | GoodExtended runtime and multi-level mapping support large homes. Dock capacity built for high-volume debris cycles. | DependsIndependent lab testing rated its navigation efficiency about average, and no large-home test was found. |
| Primary floors | ||
| Hard floors | GoodHot-wash mop dock handles hard-floor soil well. Multi-pad swap allows water-level tuning per zone. | GoodIndependent lab testing found near-perfect debris pickup and strong stain removal on hard floors. |
| Low / medium pile | GoodStandard vacuum + light mop pairing. Low-pile tolerates occasional damp mop without lifting (pad swap enables pads dry-only if needed). | GoodIndependent lab testing found carpet pickup nearly perfect, and pads lift 20 mm to stay dry. |
| High pile / shagthey differ | PoorMop system is not designed for high-pile or shag carpet. Owner reports document dust settling beneath mop; requires no-mop zones. | DependsIndependent lab testing rated its airflow and carpet deep clean below average, and no high-pile test was found. |

A robot being poor for a condition is a fact about fit, not a fault. “Depends” means the record names a limit worth reading, not that the answer is unknown.
Nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart.
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.
Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Runtime, Charge time, Noise, Weight.
Written on each record, and the only thing here every robot on the site carries.
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
Three mop modules and a washing station mean the machine handles pad changes and pad washing itself, but that is a lot of new mechanism in the dock: three swappable modules, 20 wash nozzles and a water heater, all on a product less than a year in market.
LiDAR navigation is solid across typical home layouts. Reactive obstacle avoidance covers documented scenarios. Generalization beyond the learned floor plan is not published. If your home layout shifts substantially, re-mapping overhead is real.
The dock takes over every water chore, and in exchange it needs plumbing work before its first run.
Structured-light obstacle avoidance keeps a camera out of the home; independent lab testing found the camera model avoided obstacles better.
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.

Evidence status counts the sources behind a classification, not their kind. A high count can be maker documentation and price coverage, so read it as how much was reviewed rather than as independent testing. How we weigh evidence.
