bObsweep UltraVision · Roborock Qrevo S5V
All robot vacuums. Every measure below is plotted against the full class, so a difference can be read against how much the class itself varies.

What each one does on its own.
The Autonomy Ladder is the same five rungs for every robot on the site. A rung describes the conditions a robot handles without you, not how good it is.
Where they actually differ.
The Robovations Score is nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so that more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart. Cost of ownership and data handling are reported on each robot's own page and are never averaged into the score.

How far apart is a long way?
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track below is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.

Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Runtime, Charge time, Noise, Weight, Height.
What the numbers leave out.
The trade-off
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
The dock takes care of dust for up to 180 days; the mop is a cloth you wash yourself.
List price is $929 at bObsweep, yet retailer sales have sold the same model for $299, so the price paid depends almost entirely on timing.
The FlexiArm adds edge coverage, but does not replace the main mop pads: dual-mopping translates to longer cycles and more consumable wear on homes relying on thoroughness over edge pickup.
The self-wash dock is a standing consumable expense: dust bags and mop pads run on the order of $100 to $175 a year, where a robot without a washing dock has only its own filter and brushes to replace.
Who each one is wrong for
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
- Homes with shag or deep high-pile rugs
- bObsweep's own manual says the brush is not suitable for shag, and no published figure covers other high-pile carpet.
- Households that want a mop washed and dried by the dock
- The mop is a clip-on microfiber cloth with no rotation, no low-water alert and no washing station; owners wash the cloths by hand.
- Long-haired households wanting no brush maintenance
- Best Buy owners report hair wrapping the brush roll and weekly manual clearing, since the brush has no self-cutting feature.
- Networks that broadcast only 5 GHz Wi-Fi
- The owner's manual requires a 2.4 GHz connection to reach the app, maps and schedules.
- Homes with sunken showers or step-downs left open
- One Best Buy owner watched it fall into a shower well on its second run, and the manual warns it may stall on ledges.
- Homes with deep shag or very thick pile
- The dual spinning pads raise 10 mm on carpet detection, so ordinary carpet needs no drawn no-mop zones. Pile deeper than that lift clears is a different case, and shag is still better handled with a no-go zone.
- 5 GHz Wi-Fi-only networks
- The vacuum supports 2.4 GHz only (manufacturer specs). 5-only networks require mesh backbone or access-point downgrade.
- Buyers seeking local-only operation
- The Roborock app and a manufacturer account are required for setup, mapping, scheduling, and zone control. Owners who want no cloud account do not get the scheduled operation this dock is built around.
- Small apartments under 1500 sqft
- The multifunctional dock is a full-size base, roughly 16 in wide by 19 in deep, close to 300 sq in of floor before approach clearance. In a compact home that footprint and the $899 price buy dock autonomy the layout does not demand.
- Frequent manual intervention comfort zone
- This robot is designed for scheduled leave-it-alone cycles. If you want to hand-direct cleaning or intervene mid-run, the dock automation offers no benefit.
What stays your job
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
- After every use: Wash the microfiber mop cloths by hand and refill the water tank; replacements are $9 for two.
- Weekly: Clear hair from the main brush, which owners report wraps without a self-cutting feature.
- Monthly: Clean the dustbin, filter, sensors and charging station contacts, per the owner’s manual.
- Every 3-6 months: Replace the 6 L dust bag ($11.99), which bObsweep rates for up to 180 days.
- As needed: Replace side brushes ($9.99) and main brush (from $14.99) when worn.
- Annually: Inspect the charging station; the manual lists station replacement every 12 months as a guide.
- Weekly, or when the dock prompts: Refill the clean-water tank and empty the waste tank; inspect mop pads for hair tangling and rinse if matted.
- Monthly: Replace the dock dust bag (~$24 each).
- Every 3-6 months: Replace main brush roll (~$40-50) and side brush (~$15-20) depending on pet hair density.
- Every 3-6 months: Wash or replace the spinning mop pads (~$30-40 per pair) if visible wear or mildew appears.
- Annually: Clean dock compartment and replace filter foam (~$10-15).
- As needed: Clear dock backup motor filter of compacted dust if auto-empty cycles slow or fail; replace gasket seals (~$15) if water seepage observed.
How much each of these is standing on.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.
