ANTHBOT N8 · Sunseeker Elite X4
All robot lawn mowers. Every measure below is plotted against the full class, so a difference can be read against how much the class itself varies.

What each one does on its own.
The Autonomy Ladder is the same five rungs for every robot on the site. A rung describes the conditions a robot handles without you, not how good it is.
Where they actually differ.
The Robovations Score is nine inputs across three pillars, each weighted as shown and each scored so that more is better. A robot can lead on one and trail on another, which is the point of showing them apart. Cost of ownership and data handling are reported on each robot's own page and are never averaged into the score.

How far apart is a long way?
A number only means something next to the spread it sits in. Each track below is the real range across every classified robot in the class, with the median marked.

Not compared, because fewer than two of these robots carry a published figure: Suction, Runtime, Charge time.
What the numbers leave out.
The trade-off
What each design gives up to be good at what it is good at.
Collection leaves no clippings behind, and the blower that does it is louder than a conventional mower.
RTK and cameras need no wire; slow multi-point turns and 15 cm edge strips are the cost home&smart found.
No antenna and no wire make setup quick, and the edges still need a trimmer.
Navigation stayed consistent for T3; drops and complex layouts are where auto-mapping falters.
Who each one is wrong for
Stated by the record itself. A robot being wrong for a household is a fact about fit, not a fault.
- Lawns with many tight corners and narrow passages
- home&smart saw it shuffle back and forth for each turn, and Tristans Smartes Heim found it needs room and struggles in tight corners.
- Owners who want edges finished without a trimmer
- home&smart reports strips of up to 15 cm left standing along edges.
- Lawns scattered with small toys or low objects
- Tristans Smartes Heim found objects under about 10 cm, or ones blending into the grass, were not reliably detected.
- Dense or tall grass meant to be bagged
- Tristans Smartes Heim found collection worked once grass was under 7 cm and fell off with denser material; cutting height tops out at 7 cm.
- Noise-sensitive neighbors during collection runs
- home&smart measured it noticeably louder than a classic mower with the blower running, around 69 dB.
- Owners who want edges finished by the mower
- T3 reports that edges still need tidying up after the mower's pass.
- Gardens with drops, terraces or intricate layouts
- T3 found auto-mapping can struggle with drops or more complex layouts.
- Owners who change cutting height often
- Sunseeker's dealer spec sheet lists manual cutting height adjustment from 20 to 60 mm.
- Lawns larger than about 1,200 m²
- Sunseeker rates the X4 for lawns up to 1,200 m².
- Owners who want deep app customization
- T3 found the app leans towards simplicity rather than deep customization.
What stays your job
The upkeep ownership hands back to you, whatever the autonomy level says.
- As needed: Clear clipping and leaf piles from the dump spots set in the app.
- Seasonally: Swap between the 3-blade collecting disc and the 6-blade mulching disc and deflector.
- As needed: Replace worn blades with kits sold on ANTHBOT’s US store.
- As needed: Wipe the two HDR camera lenses and check the RTK antenna stands clear.
- As needed: Trim the 15 cm edge strip the mower leaves, per home&smart.
- Weekly: Trim lawn edges the mower leaves.
- As needed: Set cutting height by hand between 20 and 60 mm.
- Monthly: Clean grass from the deck and wheels; the X4 is rated IPX6.
- As needed: Replace the six blades on the floating disc when dull.
- Seasonally: Clean and store the mower and charging station over winter.
How much each of these is standing on.
Classifications rest on different depths of evidence. A pre-release assessment and a verified one are not the same kind of claim.
