Aiper Scuba X1
A 3 micron cartridge holds what a standard basket passes straight through, but all of it comes out by hand: the cleaner is lifted from the water and the 5 L basket rinsed at the pool edge.
WavePath 3.0 avoids the cost and the failure modes of a camera system, but it also avoids the map: there is no stored floor plan to review, name or edit between cycles.
At roughly $899 the Scuba X1 sits about $800 under the Maytronics Liberty 600’s $1,729 MSRP, but it arrives with a shorter public record: Aiper publishes no service-part pricing and no battery replacement terms, so long-run ownership cost is undocumented.
Maytronics Dolphin Liberty 600
Cordless operation removes cable management, but coverage is bounded by charge rather than by the wall socket. Maytronics states up to 4.5 hours per charge, and Eco Mode spreads that across scheduled short cycles instead of one continuous pass.
App control enables sophisticated scheduling but requires WiFi stability and smartphone ownership; network outages silence scheduled runs without alert.
ClickUp removes the cable and brings the cleaner to the surface on its own, but retrieval is still manual: the owner lifts the unit out of the water by hand at the end of every cycle.

- The 5 L basket is top-loaded and emptied by hand at the pool edge, which means lifting the cleaner out of the water after a cycle. Nothing about that step is automated.
- Pools with heavy leaf debris or large obstacles
- WavePath 3.0 avoids objects but slower pathfinding than camera-vision systems; heavy debris loads may trigger premature obstacle avoidance and incomplete coverage. Pre-skimming required during fall.
- Owners wanting app-free operation
- Scheduling and cleaning history are app-only. Running the cleaner without the app means pressing the start button for every cycle.
Maytronics Dolphin Liberty 600
- Owners prioritizing hands-off operation without app dependency
- Liberty 600 requires mobile app for scheduling. Manual start button exists but full scheduling requires smartphone connectivity and app engagement. WiFi outages halt scheduled runs.
- Pools with heavy fall leaf debris
- Debris capacity is fixed, so a heavy leaf load has to be emptied more often than the cleaning schedule alone would require. Pre-skimming reduces how often a cycle is interrupted during high-debris seasons.
- Pools longer than 50 ft
- Maytronics rates the Liberty 600 for pools up to 50 ft. Longer pools fall outside the published sizing.

Aiper Scuba X1
- After every use: Lift the cleaner out, empty the 5 L top-load basket and rinse the MicroMesh cartridge with a hose; let the machine air-dry before charging.
- While charging: Use the supplied charger, set the machine on a hard non-combustible surface away from the pool, and do not leave a charge running unattended overnight. Both CPSC recalls on Aiper’s cordless line have been charging faults, neither covering the Scuba X1: the Elite Pro GS100 in August 2023 (recall 23-784, about 22,000 units, 17 reports of the battery overheating when the cord was connected without the adapter or directly to the charging port) and the Seagull Pro in March 2025 (recall 25-187, about 32,660 units, 19 reports of units melting, smoking or catching fire on charge, traced to the high-current adapter). The 2023 recall was remedied with a free Seagull Pro, the model recalled in 2025.
- Monthly: Deep-clean the MicroMesh cartridge; check the charging contacts for corrosion.
- Every 3-6 months: Inspect the brushes and tracks for wear and lodged debris.
- Seasonally: Charge the pack before storage and top it up over the off-season; store the cleaner dry and above freezing.
Maytronics Dolphin Liberty 600
- After every use: Empty and rinse the debris basket; air-dry the cleaner before storage.
- Weekly: Check the brushes and the impeller intake for hair, string and leaf stems.
- Monthly: Inspect the battery pack and its contacts for damage or mineral deposits; rinse the basket screens through.
- Seasonally: Deep-clean the basket and brushes at pool open and close; store the cleaner and its battery indoors over winter in freeze-zone climates.
- As needed: Replace brushes when worn. Maytronics publishes no replacement interval or price for this model.
