iRobot’s new ‘Roomba Monster’ in Japan is a robot it already sells in the US
iRobot’s Japan launch nicknames an already-shipping robot vacuum ‘Monster’ and prices it in yen, seven weeks after the same hardware debuted in the US at $1,199.

iRobot’s Japanese subsidiary will put the Roomba Max 875 Combo on sale October 21, 2026, selling it locally as the ‘Roomba Monster.’ It carries a ¥249,800 price, or ¥11,980 a month on subscription.
iRobot’s own materials credit the robot with up to five times the suction of the Roomba Plus 505, a $999 model on sale since March 2025. Japanese outlets carried those figures on October 14 and 16, 2026.
That multiplier holds up against iRobot’s own spec sheet: the Plus 505 lists 7,000 Pa, the Max 875 lists 35,000 Pa, exactly five times over. iRobot launched the identical machine and dock in the US on September 2, 2026, at $1,199, seven weeks before this week’s Japan release.
At that US launch, iRobot measured the robot another way: three times deeper carpet cleaning with its SealForce skirt engaged, against the same machine running without it. Two multipliers, from two baselines, describe one robot. Neither says how it compares to a rival, or to its own predecessor, the Max 775 Combo.
The release reaches two groups. Anyone who bought the Max 875 Combo in the US since September now owns the robot a Japanese retailer is about to sell as something new. Buyers in Japan get the same SealForce chassis, AutoWash dock and PowerSpin Max roller mop from October 21, 2026, under a different name, priced in yen.

The specifications are real and already published; neither figure is a new test. One outlet that covered the US launch wrote it had ‘not yet independently evaluated’ the robot, and that its comparison figures ‘come from iRobot’s announcement.’
The October 21 Japan release carries the same untested suction and carpet-cleaning claims iRobot made in September. No independent lab or reviewer has measured either claim.
